I enjoy doing programming contests because they force you to think in strange and fascinating ways.
In 2014 I got 1st place in the Iverson Exam, an Alberta wide programming contest for high school students.
Since then I have been involved with the University of Alberta’s Problem Solving Club. We host a number of local competitions and have weekly meetings to discuss problems and algorithms.
More recently I was on one of 128 teams that competed in the ACM ICPC 2017 World Finals. It was incredibly challenging!
